Pastoral Planning

2019: Sustaining and Growing Our Parish Life

For the past year, our Parish Pastoral Council, under the leadership of Father Richard Cirba and diocesan facilitator Ann Marie Cawley, has been studying our parish life and how it relates to Bishop Joseph C. Bambera’s Pastoral Vision for the Diocese of Scranton. “Wounded and Loved, Regathering the Scattered: A Pastoral Vision for the Church of Scranton” was published in June of 2011. It outlines his pastoral vision for each parish of the diocese under the pillars of Word, Worship, Community and Service.

· WORD – addresses how we study, teach and evangelize our Catholic way of life

· WORSHIP – addresses how we prepare, pray, execute and support good liturgy and worship experiences

· COMMUNITY – addresses Parish opportunities for activities, gathering, outreach and social interaction

· SERVICE – addresses programs that reach out to any particular group in need of our support as we strive to “be Christ in the World”

We are blessed here at Exaltation of the Holy Cross to have an active and dynamic parish where individuals of all ages are involved in the life of our faith community. Read below to find our what our parish currently offers under the pillars of WORD, WORSHIP, COMMUNITY and SERVICE.
